Solidarietà antifascista con il compagno Sebastien!

Il 17 Giugno 2012, sei compagni antifascisti sono stati arrestati in una via di Hénin-Beaumont (la città "laboratorio" del Fronte Nazionale di Marine Le Pen), mentre andavano ad un raduno antifascista per manifestare contro il rischio d'elezione di Marine Le Pen, al secondo turno delle elezioni legislative.

Prima che i sei compagni arrivassero al raduno, diverse unità di polizia li hanno arrestati energicamente. Manette ai polsi, sono stato trasferiti al commissariato centrale di Lens, dove sono stati incarcerati tutta la notte.

Per due dei sei compagni, è stato aperto un procedimento giudiziario. Per uno dei due compagni, essendo minnorenne, sembra che il procedimento non avrà seguito. Ma noi restiamo vigilanti.

Sebastien, l'altro compagno, passerà in processo al tribunale di Bethune il 6 Novembre 2012. Il capo d'imputazione contro Sebastien è « porto d'arma di sesta categoria » (un manganello), con l'aggravante di raggruppamento sulla via pubblica con intenzioni violente. Inoltre, sarà processato per avere rifiutato di sottomettersi a un prelievo di DNA.

Attraverso tali accuse lo Stato vorrebbe far credere che gli antifascisti sono persone praticanti una violenza gratuita, persone che hanno come solo scopo il disordine. La verità è tutt’altra : nelle settimane precedenti la serata elettorale del 17 giugno 2012, le aggressioni e le intimidazioni contro i militanti di sinistra in generale e contro gli antifascisti in particolare, si sono moltiplicate e hanno assunto un carattere sempre più violento, tollerate e coperte dalle forze di repressione dello Stato. Gli autori di queste pratiche sono militanti fascisti del Fronte Nazionale e d’altri gruppi ancora più radicali, alcuni dei quali provienienti da altre regioni della Francia.

Lo Stato vuole criminalizzare il comportamento e le scelte di Seb e dei militanti antifascisti per avere osato organizzarsi per difendersi contro le aggressioni delle bande di neo-nazisti presenti nella città.

Facciamo appello alla solidarietà popolare, incoraggiamo tutte e tutti gli antifascisti a moltiplicare le azioni di solidarietà, a diffondere l’informazione e organizzare delle iniziative di sostegno.

Cio’ che è in gioco qui non concerne unicamente un compagno. La conquista d’Henin-Beaumont e di una parte importante del territorio storico di sfruttamento e di lotte dei minatori (miniere di carbone ormai tutte chiuse, territorio quindi di disgregazione sociale, di povertà e disoccupazione) è un obbiettivo prioritario dell’estrema destra. La criminalizzazione dell’antifascismo e la progressiva instaurazione d’un clima di terrore contro i militanti progressisti fanno parte di questa strategia.

Mobilizziamoci per essere numerosi al tribunale di Bethune martedi’ pomeriggio 6 novembre.

E’ anche necessaria una solidarietà finanziaria poiché i procedimenti giudiziari sono onerosi.

Antifascist solidarity with our comrade Seb!

On June the 17th 2012, six antifascist activists were arrested by the police in the French town of Hénin-Beaumont. Our comrades were on their way to attend an antifascist rally to protest against a possible victory of Front National leader Marine Le Pen in the second round of the parliamentary election.

Our comrades were forcibly arrested by several police units before they could even reach the rally's meeting point. They were handcuffed and taken to Lens Central Police Station where they were held in custody for the night.

Two of our comrades have to undergo legal proceedings. One of them is underage, and for him things seem to have reached a standstill, but we must remain vigilant.

Seb, on the other hand, is awaiting trial at Béthune on November the 6th 2012. He will have to answer to charges of "carrying a weapon (namely, a truncheon) with the aggravating circumstance of being in the presence of one or more persons also carrying weapons ; and refusing to submit to DNA sample collection.

By formulating these accusations, the French public authorities would have us believe that all antifascists are troublemakers who only seek mindless violence. However, the reality is very different : during the weeks preceding the elections, fascist activists from the Front National and other extreme-right-wing groups - some of them dispatched from other parts of France for that purpose - had been attacking and intimidating left-wing activists in general, and antifascists in particular. Despite their growing scale, these agressions remain unpunished by the repressive powers of the French state.

For the French state, Seb and our antifascist comrades are guilty of considering the need of defending themselves in the case of an aggression by a group of neonazis. Not an unrealistic scenario as several of those were patrolling the streets of Hénin-Beaumont at the time.

We appeal to popular support, and we encourage all antifascists to carry out acts of solidarity, to disseminate information and to organise supportive initiatives.

What is at stake is not just an individual matter. The conquest of Henin-Beaumont and the surrounding unemployment-ridden, ex-mining area is a key objective of the extreme right. The criminalization of antifascism, and the instauration of a climate of fear among all progressive activists, are parts of this strategy.

We need to be as many as possible to support Seb at the Tribunal of Béthune on the 6th of November. We also appeal to financial support as legal proceedings cost a lot of money.
